The main challenge in designing this garden was an extremely large weeping willow at one end, as the crown of the tree had covered the entire rear area of the garden. A series of features was designed to transform the garden, both visually and practically. Three overlapping white walls with downlights create a light background for the garden, in what had been a very dark corner. Wide decking provides an excellent seating space while a terracotta water feature acts as a focal point. A stripe of white stone runs in the middle of the decking, to add another texture. The decking by the house has been painted in a light colour, and a contrasting coloured sail provides shade on this south facing seating area. A Venetian fence provides privacy for those sitting on the high deck.
